Foy's Lake tour - The One Mile Travel
This beautiful lake is situated at Pahartoli , in the area of Khulshi, Chittagong . Surprisingly it is an artificial lake with natural vibe. It was dug in 1924 by the authority of Asam Bangal Railway with a view to supply plenty of water to the railway colony. Once upon a time it was known as Pahartoli lake . Later it was named after an English Railway Engineer Foy 's Lake. The biggest hill of Chittagong name Batali hill is standing by the side of this beautiful Lake. Every year thousands of tourist visit this place because of it's mixturious natural and man made beauty .
Why you should visit Foy's Lake ?
There are lots of things to see in Foy's Lake. Both children and elder can go their to have a wonderful vacation. Hills and Lake created a mesmerizing view here. You will find here different lakes named Godhuli, Arunamoyi, Akashmoni, Mondakini, Dokhi , Aolkanonda is located here. In the lake there will be lots of boat. It need only ten minutes to visit the lake. Then you will see the greenish hills , the egret and deer running here and there. A beautiful zoo has been situated here to attarct the attention of the tourist. But the main thing which attract the tourist is the lake and the hilly area of Foy's Lake.
Recently the largest construction company Concord has constructed an amusement park here where you can enjoy boat riding, landscaping, restaurant, tracking , floating step concerts and so on. You will see there 2 high slide which are roller coaster and bumper boat. They both have high speed. Besides , it has a theme park named Sea World , which is the most popular place of Chittagong to the tourist of home and abroad. Including Splash pull, Water foster rider and many other facilities you will get there.Now a days you will see there a rare species of bird and you have the opportunity to see deer in the deer park.

Schedule:
From Saturday to Thursday it is open from 10.30 am to 6 pm. In holiday ( Friday, Saturday) it is open from 10am to 7 pm.
Entry fee:
If you are a Bangladeshi visitor ,you need 300 tk for buying ticket. For the foreigner it will cost 3.49 dollar.
Including Ride the entry fee will cost 350 tk.
Boat riding fee - 100 tk
Entry fee to the Sea World - You will get 3 package of 400,500 and 600 tk. You can choose your preferred package.
How to go there ??
To go to Foy's Lake you need to devide your journey in two way. Dhaka to Chittagong , then Chittagong to Foy's Lake. If you are from Dhaka, you need to go to Chittagong first.
Dhaka to Chittagong:
By bus:
Firstly you need to go to Saidabad bus stop (which is near to Tole Plaza and Saidabad Super) Market From Kamalapur Terminal by BRTC (Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation). Then you can go to Chittagong by Soudia , Hanif or N.P Poribahan / Transportation. The bus fair may cost 400 - 500 tk.
If you are from Sylhet you can go to Chittagong by both bus and train . By bus you can choose Mamun, BRTC or Green line . They have both AC and Non .AC service for 1100 and 700 tk You can choose yours as per your budget.
By train :
If you want to go to Chittagong by train from Dhaka you can use these train :
- Provati Metropoliton train (at 7.40 am it leaves Dhaka )
- Chattola Express (at 9.20 am)
- Metropolitan Godhuli (at 3 pm)
- Suborno Express ( at 4.20 pm)
- Turna (11.30 pm)

Chittagong to Foy's Lake:
From GEC mor you can go to Foy's Lake by CNG. It will cost 60Tk to 70 Tk. You can go there by rickshaw too. It will cost 40 Tk.
You can go there by bus also. You can find many local bus from Foy's Lake bus stop. It is situated on the Dhaka - Chittagong high way . In the opposite of University of Science and Technology , Chittagong ( USTC). Some well known transport services you may find there are - The Diamond Paribahan Songstha, EDU Transportation Service, Relax Transport Ltd etc. It is the entrance of lake city. You might need 4 to 5 minutes by walking to enter the city.
Where to stay ?
As it is a big place, you may not be able to visit all the lake area in one day. If you want to stay here for some day they have amazing resort. They have luxurious cottage and resort for newlyweds and other visitors.For each night the resort fee will be 2000 and 500 Tk to 7000 Tk.
